FIRST Appalachian Robotics is a community based nonprofit robotics group based in Bristol, VA. Our team meets in the main Bristol Public Library on Fridays from 4:00 - 5:00 and nearby later on Fridays and on Saturdays year-round.
Our team strives to provide opportunities for young people in grades 7 - 12 to be science and technology leaders by encouraging innovation and self-confidence.  During the school year, we compete in an international robotics competition challenge through FIRST (firstinspires.org), but we do so much more than robotics! Our team also practices life skills such as leadership, communication, engineering, and design. Team students and mentors teach and lead explorations in STEM subjects with younger students, peers, and adults throughout the Tri-Cities area and beyond, including near space balloon launches, rocketry, soldering, and more!
As FIRST states, it's the "Hardest fun you will ever have!" - they aren't joking!

FIRST Tech Challenge Team 7090 was founded in 2013.
